Generator compatible with Redshift SM?

Out in the desert yesterday I found out the hard way that my uncle’s Westinghouse iGen2200 is not compatible with the SM (error: ‘AC ground not detected’). Tried every which way of grounding the generator but no luck. Can anyone here recommend a small (<2.2kW) generator that works with the SM?

We considered towing the bike across the playa with regen braking on.... really wanted to ride.

It's a different error, but wisdom shared in that thread did point the way. It seems like any generator with a floating neutral will cause this problem when charging the SM. I ultimately tied the AC neutral wire from the generator to the generator ground (like this) and was able to charge no problem.
