    CFMoto Electric Dirtbike

What's really interesting here is the partnership with KTM. I have been thinking there is no way KTM is going to let Stark have all of the E-Moto spotlight for long. https://enduro21.com/en/bikes/latest/cfmoto-aka-ktm-built-an-electric-bike

    Off-Road Range Guess?

Pretty much my experience too. I think the biggest variable is the rider.

    Yamaha TY-E Trials

For rough, rocky offroad climbs, I always wished my Alta had a clutch so I could smooth out the the torque a bit and zap up things a bit easier. Makes total sense on a trials bike.

    Off-Road Range Guess?

I'm talking same moderate trail pace. At race pace yeah, probably 10 miles max. I never ran the bike that hard on trails because I wanted to make it back. That too always bothered me about the Alta. Always holding back to conserve the battery whereas on my TX300, I can go 100% without any worries.

    Off-Road Range Guess?

Agreed. Even on map 1 I barely got 20 miles. With map 1, I was just having to twist the throttle a lot more. After a while, I ended up staying on map 4 as it didn't really change the range but was a lot nicer to ride.

STARK VARG (Something new is coming!)

It's been two years since I had my Alta MXR and now I've put a deposit on the 80hp version of the Varg. Delivery date shows November so they are already two months out from the first orders. Looking forward to getting back on an electric MX bike.

    Sold Alta Rear Hub

Also, an alternate way to go is to use a standard KTM front hub and use a '13-'15 triple clamp which is narrower. This is what I did with mine, only $150 for a set off of eBay. Then just use a KTM fender and number plate. The nice thing with this method is you can then use any KTM wheel you want.

    Sold 2018 MXR in Arizona

I'm an off-road guy so this was never a great fit for me as I do 40-80 miles most rides. This is the best MX bike I've every ridden and for that it's amazing. Unfortunately I rarely do MX and at his point I have 4 bikes in a small garage. I'm actually, including this one, selling three of my...

    Rim Options, Triple Clamp Options?

I guess I should have clarified that I was using the stock Alta 22mm offset which is the same for most modern stock KTM clamps making swapping a snap. I have not tried an 18mm offset with a KTM clamp so I cannot comment on whether you would retain full turning radius in this configuration.

    Rim Options, Triple Clamp Options?

I have the KTM triples and did not lose any turning radius. The reason is that even though it is closer to the frame when the wheel is pointed straight, at full lock the fork tube is at a more forward and therefore narrower part of the frame. Absolutely no loss of turning radius and may have...

    Front Fender Slap

I like the look with the KTM fender and plate and no fender slap.

    Steering Damper

You want to use the entire KTM clamp assembly. Upper, lower, stem and all. Don’t use newer than a ‘15 or you’ll have clearance issues with the bottom of the top clamp due to the newer style bar clamps (13’-15’ years are correct). I broke down the Alta wheel and laced it back up with a Tusk KTM...

N2Dirt and Dal Soggio Sphere Upgrade

You’re going to love the Spheres. I’ve still got a set I’m selling in the classifieds for about $500 off what I paid for them.

    Steering Damper

Correct, if you buy the KTM spec Ohlins damper, it will work with the KTM clamp. Once you switch over you can sell the clamp, axle and hub on the Alta classifieds for as much or more than the conversion parts. I actually made a few $$ coverting mine. I think the clamps were $150 on eBay, $120...

    Steering Damper

Another option is to use a 13’-15’ KTM triple clamp, hub and axle. That’s what I did and you get the added benefit of being able to swap wheels with standard KTM wheels.
