Great, very competitive specs. The bike is 5 lbs lighter than the MXR. I like the small, quickly swappable battery! (y)

What do you have for the inverter/motor controller? Does it need cooling?

Controller is a Sevcon Gen4 size 6, doesn't seem to need cooling at this power level.

So about 850Amps to 900ish amp peak? Size 6 Sevcons are in Zero SRs which do not use liquid cooling on the controller. Usually the motors are the limit here and not the controller...

Specs are:
- DHX Hawk 40 motor, made in USA - 49hp and 59 ft.lb
- 28s6p battery packs ~ 3.1kWh, have three and can swap out in about 5 mins
- KTM 65 radiator in airbox for motor cooling
- 2.15:1 primary reduction into factory size front sprocket spline
- 4.15:1 secondary reduction using factory 13t front into 54t rear sprocket
- Weight distribution 60kg rear 56kg front
Conversion probably ended up costing more than a second hand Alta.

Impressive build, for sure. What cells are you using in the packs? Do you run into thermal issues with the battery since its not actively cooled? an

Was looking at the specs of that motor. While max output is rated at 49hp and 59ftlb, its continuous output is 30.8 hp and 36.9ftlb with a max RPM of 7200. Looks like you got the gearing sorted, but for my curiousity what MPH is the bike geared for?

Cells are LiPo pouch, have not seen temps over 86 F yet.
Should be about 60MPH, setup to ride a small backyard track - so low end response was more important to me. Looking at pushing the motor a little faster soon though.
