Flashing blue light on top of the battery pack

Anyone know what the flashing blue light on top of the battery pack is telling us. Sometimes flashes for quite a while after key is off. Are there flashing patterns to be aware of?

The blue light flashes quickly showing that the battery is in shutdown mode, discharging the capacitor and making the high voltage circuit as safe as possible - an important process if one is to work on the system. There are no patterns, only the rapid flashing indicating shutdown.
