You could also contact @Rashid510 about a backup display. I run the 'new' version on my bike with the original safely tucked away in the garage. It's a lighter and more reliable way to get a little piece of mind while riding.

That is actually my plan. I've only got the one day, and am SEVERELY out of shape, so I think a few Slickrock loop will be the way to go. I'll see if I can get some SOC and mileage data for the loop and bring it back here. Wasn't really planning to bring my multitool, but I'll see about it.

So I ended up re-springing and re-valving the front forks on the EX with the factory developed MX stack. Thanks @Philip. No other internal fork mods, just a new shim stack, springs, and oil height for the front... Wow, what a change! The bike feels totally different, and all in a good way...

Interesting... selling just the motor and controller (plus accessories) seems like a smart call for them. Less convenient if you are buying from them, but this is a great setup for a project bike. The limited power, but sweet aircooled motor would make a really nice vintage bike build. I wonder...
