Alta accepted at Dubya World Vet MX Championship?

:ROFLMAO: Good you didn't have to issue an Altamatum

Milandr Power Machines - A Russian Alta

Believe the clutch actuates re-gen, based on some video translations. Everything I read / see on this seems to enforce that these bikes are strictly concepts and will not be widely available, which is a bummer. Who knows, though.

Based on recent social media activity, looks like they've added cooling:

Why haven't one of the major mfr's released an Alta comparable full sized dirt bike yet?

The quotes, I'm guessing, suggest quick swap.

    Gas Gas

Indeed. Believe Gas Gas' relationship with Torrot was of some interest to KTM - Gas Gas already had eBike for kids and electric trials bike built on the Torrot platform.

Thanks for the reply, @Sumik! If you pass through the NYC area, I'll gladly buy you a coffee, breakfast sandwich, beer, etc.

@Sumik Out of curiosity, how hypothetical is this hypothetical?

My money (hope) is on Yamaha, since I do like the brand and their trials concept is awesome. They've also been a leader in the electric, pedal-assist market for some time (nearly 30 years). Also, the tail-end of this video from a couple of years ago:

    Cake Kalk OR

I feel like, sadly, Alta's shuttering likely made Zero even more fearful of reentering the offroad market. Alta's execution was impeccable, and not so easy for anyone else (even Zero) to replicate without significant effort. Hopefully someone will try again sometime. I commend Sur Ron, though...

    Cake Kalk OR

Indeed, still a very tough sell, especially with Sur Ron pricing so much more aggressively. For what it is, I like the design, and have had the chance to demo in-person. But make no mistake; you're not lining up for Erzberg on a Cake.

    Cake Kalk OR

Cake just rolled out their Kalk INK, which strips out the ohlins and different wheel sets for $3,500 in saving ($9.5k all in). Personally, I really the black.

Torp Motors, filed under "Cake Kalk & Alternatives"

Just announced today from Torp Motors out of Croatia Nice design, but would want more rear wheel covering. Between this, Cake Kalks, Light Bee, Ubco, Kuberg, some publisher could have fun with an ultralight electric shootout.

Looks like Derek landed at Vancouver-based moto startup Damon: Perhaps his influence will see Damon wade into off-road executions in the future.

    Storm Bee

Of course, unconfirmed chatter, but would be nice if true. High quality components for wheels, suspension, brakes, etc., help to assuage overall quality concerns. However, Sur Ron definitely isn’t the same build quality as the big OEMs - tapered, needle bearings for steering stem is an...

Anybody with KTM Freeride E Please help!

Will be nice if KTM brings the Freeride EXC bake stateside - even better if they try for it to be street legal. However, based on the global KTM site, it doesn't appear that even the 2020 MY has been updated (aside from BNG) since the big update in 2018 - switch to Sony cells, better brakes...

EcoBikeAdv to open an e-bike/e-moto park in the sierras

There's been an influx of skate parks popping up in Brooklyn and Queens. Something like this could be feasible at a big empty lot somewhere in outskirts of Brooklyn or Queens, even if just for a summer pop up.

Sur-Ron Boom Bee (Storm Bee) electric motorcycle spy photo's soon released

IIRC, the law is that - for full size motorcycles with automatic transmissions - that a handlebar-mounted rear brake can be a supplemental feature, though a pedal mounted rear brake is the primary mechanism. Here's some detail on it with a helpful table:
