@leeo45 , if you come up north I can also set some time aside to show you some riding spots in Pennsylvania to help make it worth your while. Hope you like rocks though!!

No problems with rocks. It's the Death Jumps (TM) that I try to avoid. I can't commit to anything this early but I will certainly keep your offer in mind when the dates are set and the actual planning starts. Thanks!

Dude that’s awesome... can you even tell you are pulling anything? :ROFLMAO:
It's about the same as pulling one of my empty tankers, except for feeling crosswinds more with the toy hauler. Current dually pickup prices are way too high, and the newer emissions engines are junk. We just rent cars for the wife to drive when we need it. I can't go to Commiefornia with any of my trucks since they all have rebuilt engines from the 1990's, but owell.

I've never owned a dually, but I feel safer pulling it with a semi.

I’m going to sound like a salesman on the Georgia locations but here is why;
Durhamtown;
-Rental cabins/RV’s for those without RV’s
-Full hook up RV sites including 50 amp sites (240v=fast charging)
-On site restaurant
-Pro shop
-Rental motorcycles/ATV’s/SXS’s for non Alta riding guests
-Fun, flowing one way trail systems of every type
-Multiple MX tracks including one of the best national level tracks I’ve been on
-Various assorted “play” tracks (straight rythem style, drag race, flat track, arenacross, bowl track, etc.)

Highland park I love and has arguably better trails with more elevation change and multiple MX tracks, but isn’t as developed as Durhamtown as far as rentals and full hook up RV sites. I do think they would take better care of us though.

We have multiple other members that can comment on these places first hand, @leeo45 @Trialsman and I believe @wildman240 to name a few.
You're spot on with this...Durhamtown is better for camping as they have electricity and water hookups for RVs. Highland does not. Both have cabin rentals (with electricity only at Highland, so nod to Durhamtown on that one). However Highland has considerably better single track and is waaay more technical from the start.

If it rains: Durhamtown is greased pig on ice and the only way to get to most of the single track is on said skating rink. They do have pressure washing stations to help clean up the mess when done...but that lovely GA clay will permanently stain whatever you're wearing. (I recommend black.)

I typically do Durhamtown a couple times a year and is honestly probably the better choice for this kind of event. With that said, I prefer Highland Park hands down for riding and it's half the distance from my house. They used to be an Alta dealer and Paul (owner) uses one to go out and do trail maintenance.

Let's do a vote on location and general time of year? My understanding is there are essentially two locations suggested so far. NY and GA. It sounds like more people would be willing to attend if it is up in the northeast but a vote will be more conclusive. I am not sure how to set up a poll. Additionally what time of year would be best?

If it's going to be down south I'd like to avoid the snow here in the winter and thaw out for a while down there

Starting a Poll here on this forum is easy. Just begin the process to start a new thread and there is an option at the very bottom of the screen to make it a poll.

Any update on this? My calendar is open after 10/18 so I'm looking to do some riding after that or even a long weekend and travel south.

Sorry I haven't created a poll. I have been super busy. I should have time tomorrow hopefully. It sounds like there is going to be a ride down south sometime in the winter no matter what. I am thinking that a lot of people will want to meet in the northeast next year for a larger gathering. I will focus my efforts on the later of the two pending what everyone thinks on a poll.

If you want to come up to new york and do a hair scramble with me there is one the 10/18th, 10/25th and 11/1st. I can't get a full 2 hours on a charge but they have a team class we could do if interested. It is at a few motocross tracks in central NY. Typically a loop involves a large portion of the track and then a section of woods and fields. Normally muddy and commonly a bit cold ha

I’m planning on going to Durhamtown next February, if anyone wants to meet up in that timeframe let me know.
At this point, my kids 7th birthday is February 14th and we are thinking about going there depending on my work schedule. Never been there but I've heard a lot of good things.

If you are considering doing it PM me and we can talk details. I’d love to meet up. Nothing better than escaping our winter in February!

Alright, 12 people voted on the pole. It looks like the North East wins the location and the time of year is pretty close only separated by 1 vote. Do we think COVID will be manageable by spring because it is one vote ahead? It also seems that for most people if there is a smaller winter rally they will still come to another northeast rally. Any thoughts?
